I have a passion for horses and a passion for photography.  Horses represent to me a freedom and grace that is very spiritual.  My series on horses is ongoing and is an exploration of form as well as light.

Inspiration from Georgia O’Keeffe, Degas, Van Gough and the Cave Paintings of France help to define this vision.

The horse itself portrays strength, agility and endurance while at the same time being fragile and ethereal.

“You’re after a feeling, a moment, almost a wistfulness.  You have to think poetically.”  David Doubilet

“Nothing is less real than realism.  Details are confusing.  It is only by selection, by elimination, by emphasis that we get at the real meaning of things.”  Georgia O’Keeffe - 1922

I hope my images have captured some of the mystique of the horse.
